She had always wanted him to record a Gospel album and his small intimate project turned into an incredible release of favorite hymns. On the CD, his wife and children sang backup for some of the songs, but were too shy to do so onstage for the DVD. The DVD was filmed at the Ryman Auditorium with Alan''s nephew and wife joining him to sing backup on "Tis So Sweet in Jesus." They are RCA recording artists The Wrights. The DVD is an acoustic concert of the hymns found on the CD. Songs such as "Blessed Assurance," "I Love To Tell The Story," "Are You Washed in the Blood/I''ll Fly Away" and "The Old Rugged Cross" to name a few. "Softly and Tenderly" and "Standing on the Promises" are two songs that are a bonus for the DVD. In between the songs, they have interviews with Alan, his mother, his wife and kids. It is a very intimate reflective setting for a project very close to Alan''s heart. There are family photos dispersed through the video and bonus footage includes some family stories and history. The family band is also introduced, showing us that Alan is not the only one with musical talent in the group. They get together and play for local events.
